Infant Massage Classes

Who:   Ideal for infants and their caregivers at least a full 2 months old to pre-crawling stages.

Where:  The Rosemary Birthing Home, 830 Central Avenue in downtown Sarasota

When:  Every other Friday from 11-12 noon. Please rsvp in advance as classes sizes are limited to 8.

Why:  Learn a wonderful 20 minute routine that can be performed at this stage and as your child
            grows that will deliver a lifetime of benefits for both giver and reciever.

Fee:  $25 for the class which includes a handout, massage oil, personalized instruction in a 
         personable and safe environment.  A sliding scale is available for families who need assistance.
 

Highlights of the Class

The class is facillaitated by Dr. Deanine Picciano in a small group setting.  Baby and care giver are comfortably positioned on the floor soft pillow and blanket while Dr. Picciano leads you thru a routine step by step that accomodates all levels of experience.  Caregivers are guided to work at their own pace and allow the infant to lead the process as the layers of the massage routine are taught.  A symphony of happy peaceful babies enjoy the entertaining and therapeutic benefits as much as the caregivers do in witnessing their tiny ones discover the power of positive touch.   Meet other likeminded families who are discovering ways to empower themselves with theraputic healing touch. Please wear comfortable clothing for the floor work and bring along any baby items you need to freely enjoy the hour.

For many cultures, infant massage is a vital part of welcoming baby into the world and enhancing their health and communicating beyond the physical body into the emotional, social, and spiritual spheres of a child’s life.
